In April 2020, the Ministry of Education led the improvement of the national joint conference mechanism for comprehensive prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents as a member unit; In May, the National Health Commission issued the Guidelines for Myopia Prevention during the COVID-19 among Children and Adolescents; In August, the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, and the General Administration of Sport jointly issued the evaluation and assessment of the national comprehensive prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents;

In April 2021, the Ministry of Education and fifteen other departments jointly issued the "Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Myopia in Children and Adolescents (2021-2025)".
