In recent years, the number of people with myopia in China has been continuously increasing. According to relevant data released by the World Health Organization, over 600 million people in China have myopia, especially among adolescents and children. There are many reasons for myopia, and poor lighting environment in classrooms is one of the main factors affecting myopia in children and adolescents.
Faced with the increasing data on myopia, in order to ensure the visual health of children and adolescents, the country has successively introduced a series of plans and policies to transform the learning environment.
In June 2018, the National Health Commission issued the "Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Myopia"; In August, the Ministry of Education and eight other departments jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Myopia in Children and Adolescents"; In November, the Ministry of Education released the Basic Requirements for National Pilot Counties (Cities, Districts) and Reform Pilot Zones for Myopia Prevention and Control of Children and Adolescents (Trial).
In March 2019, the Health Commission released the "Core Information on Myopia Prevention and Control Health Education for Children and Adolescents"; In October, the General Office of the National Health Commission issued a notice on suitable technical guidelines for preventing and controlling myopia in children and adolescents.
In April 2020, the Ministry of Education led the improvement of the national joint conference mechanism for comprehensive prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents as a member unit; In May, the National Health Commission issued the Guidelines for Myopia Prevention during the COVID-19 among Children and Adolescents; In August, the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, and the General Administration of Sport jointly issued the evaluation and assessment of the national comprehensive prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents;
In April 2021, the Ministry of Education and fifteen other departments jointly issued the "Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Myopia in Children and Adolescents (2021-2025)".
Under the current policy support, the demand for educational lighting is mainly divided into two categories: one is based on the existing stock of schools, targeting the classroom lighting renovation needs of old schools; The other type is based on improving the existing teaching environment and supplementing the needs, targeting the demand for comprehensive lighting solutions for newly built schools.
According to the "National Statistical Bulletin on the Development of Education" released by the Ministry of Education, there are a total of 212600 compulsory education schools in China, with 154 million students on campus; 27000 high schools and universities, with 80 million students enrolled; All classrooms: approximately 5.85 million rooms, with a demand for approximately 70.2 million teaching lighting fixtures.
The equipment in traditional classrooms is independent and not related to each other, while in smart classrooms, more capabilities are given to the equipment, which coordinates work and facilitates management. Intelligent lighting is the foundation of a smart campus, and through upgrades, it can achieve the linkage of lighting, curtains, air conditioning, and monitoring, achieve safe electricity use and energy-saving management, and unify them into the campus platform.
For example, Huahui Lighting has launched an AIoT smart classroom lighting solution: it can cover classroom eye protection lights, blackboard lights, etc., and supports multiple modes such as brightness adjustment, color temperature adjustment, and constant illumination.
