To create a high-quality classroom lighting environment, natural light is essential!

With more and more children wearing glasses, especially primary and secondary school students, the myopia rate is getting higher and higher, and the low age and severe degree are deepening. Research shows that, in addition to the frequent use of electronic products and other factors, poor classroom lighting environment is the main reason for the decline of primary and secondary school students' eyesight. Primary and secondary school students spend about 60% of their time in the classroom every day. The classroom is not only the "main position" to implement the prevention and control of myopia in teenagers and children, but also an important place for teenagers to learn and grow. Primary and secondary school students have 8-10 hours to study in the classroom every day. From primary school to high school graduation, each student spends at least 15000 hours in the classroom. This is the most critical period for their physical, intellectual and social communication ability development. When the lighting and lighting conditions in the classroom are insufficient and the light is too dark, over time, the refractive system of the eyes will naturally change, resulting in myopia.

In the current primary and secondary school lighting renovation project, it is found that the classroom lighting in most schools does not actually meet the national standards. The average illumination of desks and blackboards in the classroom is low, severe stroboscopic, high glare value, blue light, and so on. If there is no professional lighting design, it will cause adverse effects such as harming students' eyesight and reducing teaching and learning efficiency.

The high-quality classroom lighting environment should meet these six standards: excellent illumination, no glare, high color rendering index, no light stroboscopic hazard, moderate color temperature, and no blue light hazard. Visual health and comfort should be considered as the key point to improve learning efficiency and reduce visual fatigue. There are two kinds of classroom lights: classroom light and blackboard light. The classroom light specially illuminates the desk, and the blackboard light specially illuminates the blackboard. The professional classroom lighting design should set up healthy lighting in strict accordance with the standards. According to the different lighting requirements of the teaching area and the student seat area in the classroom, the lamps should be installed and arranged in a targeted way. The hanging height of the lamps should be a certain distance from the desk surface. A layer of eye-protection lampshade should be installed outside the lamp source, so that the light on each seat is eye-protection and non-glare, and the light is soft and not dazzling, so as to ensure different weather and time periods, The healthy illuminance on the surface of tabletop, blackboard and other appliances can eliminate the damage to vision caused by frequent flashing of fluorescent lamps.

At the same time, the design of classroom lighting environment should make the best use of natural light to create a comfortable visual environment and a pleasant living environment beneficial to physical and mental health. Natural light brings many health benefits to the classroom space, but its illumination stability is poor, and the attenuation in depth direction is obvious, which must be solved. Therefore, the balance design of natural light and artificial light in the classroom has become a key issue.

The artificial lighting in the classroom needs to respond to the outdoor natural lighting environment. The dynamic lighting indicators such as natural lighting independent parameters, effective lighting intensity, annual exposure and the method of lighting time series analysis should be introduced into the classroom lighting design. Through real-time monitoring of the change of sunlight, electric curtains, sunshades and electrochromic glass should be used to reasonably control the lighting amount to avoid the impact of glare outside the window. Based on the attenuation degree of indoor lighting coefficient with depth, the color temperature, illuminance and other parameters of indoor lighting are automatically adjusted through lamp grouping control to maintain the stability of classroom illumination level, always control it within a reasonable level range, and reduce unnecessary lighting energy consumption.

As for the transformation of classroom lighting environment, in addition to artificial lighting, the natural lighting of the classroom can not be ignored. Introducing natural lighting in the classroom can not only save energy, but also make it more comfortable visually. A large number of studies have shown that good natural lighting can not only create a beautiful and pleasant learning environment, but also benefit students' physical and mental health, and even improve students' learning performance and efficiency.

The natural light is incident from the left side of the student seat to avoid the formation of hand shadow. The daylighting window of the one-side daylighting classroom and the main daylighting window of the two-side daylighting classroom should be located on the left side of the student seat. In order to reduce glare, when the south direction of the classroom is the outer corridor and the north direction is the classroom, the north direction should be the main lighting surface, and the sunlight from the south direction should be introduced into the classroom. Various forms of shading shall be adopted for indoor and outdoor window areas to reduce strong glare near the window. The design of classroom shading should pay special attention to the details. For example, the indoor shading with blinds will form light and shadow patterns with light and dark stripes, which may cause visual pressure, form adverse stimuli, and affect students' learning.
